Anyone know where to get a good NES clone?

I have a friend with a NES, of course the blinking and not working games
problem is there. I told him clones are more stable, but it seems some
clones have slowdowns and inferior sound? Where to get a good clone, anyone
knows?

Thanks

I've fixed mine and my friends' NES consoles myself using these easy
instructions:

http://classicgaming.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Articles.Detail&id=256

It takes me about half an hour and a screwdriver. Works perfectly after
that, but be gentle. Always make sure the contacts on the game cartridges
are clean, even after fixing the console.

He could also replace the 72 pin connector instead of adjusting it.
They're about $5 plus shipping on ebay.

Thanks, I think that has been done before, but after a couple of years it
gets bad again. Have not tried replacing the connector, I thought that would
make same problem later??? If it's that cheap, it's worth a go though. But,
still prefer a clone, never had trouble with any of mine (NASA and one I
don't remember name of)

Messiah sells a half-decent clone called the NEX. It's got the same
compatibility issues as many clones, but there are some nice extras
thrown in.

Personally, I'm going to vouch for the other suggestions in this
thread: Fix the blinky, if possible.
